Description: Learn how I make an unconventional Trinbagonian chow! A chow is a spicy snack made with whatever fruits are in season. In Trinidad and Tobago, we use green or half ripe mangoes, plums, paw paw (papaya), pommerac, pommecythere, pootigal, orange, pineapple, five finger or star fruit, cucumber, chennette, cocoa, jamun and other tropical fruits. Coconut jelly, sugar cane and corn are also modern additions to the chow family.Trinbagonians around the world improvise and use whatever fruits are available to them. Today I’ll show you how I make chow using ingredients I found at the grocery in Houston, Texas. These fruits were found at Kroger, HEB and Fiesta Mart.  Ingredients: Chenette, Pineapple, Mango, Dragon Fruit, Strawberries, Cotton Candy Grapes, Cherries and Blood Oranges. The juice of a lemon (optional) Hot pepper (as much as you like) 10-12 cloves of garlic 6-8 bandhania/shadon beni/culantro/recao leaves Optional ingredients: 1 tbsp of ketchup + 1 tsp of sugar Subscribe: goo.gl/A6ob1C Most recent video: goo.gl/DHsTND Like, Subscribe and leave me Comments- I want to hear from you!
